Screen time

Ideation

The challenge

The average screen time is higher than it has ever been before, especially for kids, teens and young adults. The center for Disease control and Prevention (CDC) states that the average screen time for kids ages 11-14 is nine hours a day! And since this screen time is, most of the time, not even work related we want to focus on these age groups in particular.

The solution

We thought about creating an app, which attracts the younger generations in a way to reduce their screen times. Most apps that are currently on the market focus on tracking screen time. Other apps (like "Parental Control") focus on the parents that can keep track of the screen time of their children. The idea behind our app is that we want to stimulate children themselves to reduce their screen times by the use of gamification. This means that they will be rewarded based on the amount of minutes/hours that they do not spend on digital devices.
