FitLab

Ideation

The challenge

With fast fashion becoming as popular as ever, online shopping is becoming a trend and the future of the fashion industry. Customers tend to order multiples of the same product to see what fits and return the rest. Retailers complain about this amount of returns they have. The overall problem is that this causes a lot of package waste and CO2 emissions because of all the shipping and returns. How can customers “try” on clothes without ordering multiple sizes of the same article and return the ones that don’t fit?

The solution

FitLab: an online tool that creates a universal Fit Profile, where customers can have their sizes taken in every online store. On cooperating fashion retailer websites, the customer logs in to their FitLab profile and they are automatically given the size that fits them best, this way they only order one size. Reducing the number of returned products, which is more convenient for the customer as they won’t have to do anything besides receiving their package, and it helps the environment due to less transporting. For the retailers there will be less costs associated with transport and packaging.
