Student Chores

Ideation

The challenge

As we all have experienced, university students’ life is a transition period where society requires us to start assuming responsibilities, but, on the other hand, there is a general mistrust towards students who are considered still not capable of acquiring a role for the community. This problem is particularly visible during the process of finding a part time job to coordinate with your university career, since not many business owners trust students, especially from other nationalities. This scenario represents an issue both for the society, who sees many possible workers unemployed, and for the students themselves who are not able to earn and spend money.

The solution

Our solution to this particular problem is the start-up “Student Chores”. This app is created as a portal to connect businesses to students, both international and none. Every time a business owner is in need of an employee for a short time job ( ex: one shift), they only have to post the job announcement in the app and all the students who meet the requirement stated by the employer will have the possibility to work for a day and earn some money. To make sure that this transaction is as secure as possible, all students will be asked to furnish an identification document and the certificate of enrolment for the university, and the employers will be provided with a standard contract according to the laws of the home country. This initiative is focused on smoothing the transition that students experience to enter society, by showing the population small examples of how responsible new generations can be.
