The challenge

There is a lot of paper waste in the retail industry because of the paper receipt you always get after paying. There will be a waste of paper receipts anyway, if the person after the pay desk doesn’t throw it away, you will. Paper receipts simply don’t fit in the current society anymore with all eyes pointed at sustainability and the environment. However, people want receipts for several reasons so there needs to be a solution that takes into account sustainability and the fact that customers can view their receipts.

The solution

There has to be a digital place on which customers can view their receipts, for example in the form of an app. The idea is that eventually, the whole retail industry can use the online platform for every single customer. This will reduce paper waste and will contribute to sustainability. Next to that, customers are able to view their receipts as long as they want and don't have the problems of paper receipts anymore like losing the receipt.
