The challenge

584,000 households in the Netherlands live in poverty, many of them silent, unnoticed. They are often not able to purchase the goods to maintain a healthy diet. On the other hand, just in the Netherlands, 590 million kilograms of EDIBLE food lands in the bins every year . (This is 34 kilograms per person per year, most of which is not even sold in the first place, but thrown away by the supermarkets themselves). This is by no means sustainable.

The solution

Let's start reducing waste and making it more accessible to those in need! We pick up food from supermarkets, restaurants etc. that cannot be sold anymore and store it in a central place that is accessible to the public (preferrably with a fridge for dairy, meat, certain vegetables and fruit etc.) We help redistribute the food to people who want to make use of our service.
