The challenge

The global shoe market is huge, producing around 19 billion pairs of shoes each year, of which 90% of the shoes end up on a landslide. This problem was noted over twenty years ago and has never been solved. Due to technological advancements, today is the right time to reduce this huge amount of waste.

The solution

We will use 3D printing, to develop more sustainable sneakers while remaining fashionable. A base 'sock' of the shoe will serve as the base of our shoes. The outer part of the shoe will be made out of recycled plastic and will be individually 3D printed. This outer part can later be turned in to be recycled again to receive a discount on your next outer shoe.
